Hello! Thank You for visiting the department of Civil Engineering. The place where you live or work, the water you drink, the transport infrastructure you travel on the work of civil engineers surrounds us all. Civil Engineering is a professional engineering discipline and core branch that deals with the analysis, design, construction of buildings, bridges, roads, dams, canals, etc. Today’s Civil Engineer should pocesses in depth civil engineering skills of analysis, design, construction and maintenance of various structures, computer, managerial and communication skills. He should be also trained to understand and solve real world problems in civil engineering. There are many career paths for civil engineering. Civil Engineers can work in Government Departments, Public Sector undertakings and various private sector organizations. The Department of Civil Engineering of Government Polytechnic Jammu fulfills the requirement of acquisition of various skills by well designed curriculum, well qualified and dedicated faculty and staff, well equipped infrastructure like laboratories and effective teaching learning process.
