Government Polytechnic Bikram Chowk and Women Polytechnic Jammu Jointly Organized SVEEP Rally

In a significant initiative to raise public awareness about the importance of voting in a democratic setup, and as per the directions of District Administration Jammu, a mega SVEEP rally was jointly organized today by Government Polytechnic Bikram Chowk Jammu and Govt Women Polytechnic Jammu under the Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) program.

The rally was flagged off from Government Polytechnic Bikram Chowk Jammy by the Principal of College Er Arun Bangotra and Er Suket Gupta Principal of Women Polytechnic Jammu. The rally witnessed enthusiastic participation of more than 450 students of both the colleges, who held placards and banners emphasizing the power of voting. Their messages, displayed in Hindi and English included slogans such as My Vote, My Right, Voting is Power, The Power of Vote, and The Ballot is Always Stronger than the Bullet.

The students were accompanied by faculty members Er. Inderjeet Singh Workshop Superintendent, Er. Sukhdeep Singh HOD Civil Engg, Er. Manjeet Singh, HOD Electrical Engg, Er Rani Devi HOD MLT, Er. Raj Shekhar HOD Automobile, Lectureres, Sh. Amit Kumar Sharma, Er Rishbah Sharma, Er Arshad Ranja, Er Amit Gupta, Er Yogesh Raina, Mr Dheeraj Kumar, Sh Chamel Singh, PEM, Ms Toshi Devi, PET etc. Students voiced their support for democracy with resounding slogans, further highlighting the crucial role of voting in empowering citizens.

The rally, which commenced from the Government Polytechnic Bikram Chowk Jammu premises and concluded at the Zorawar Singh Auditorium, Jammu University after covering the Bikram Chowk and University road locality, was a resounding success in spreading the message of voter participation. Er Arun Bangotra and Er Suket Gupta Principals of both the colleges expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the students and staff for their active involvement and commitment to raising awareness ahead of the upcoming voting day on 1st October 2024. This SVEEP activity marks another step towards ensuring that every eligible citizen understands their role and responsibility in shaping the future of the country through the power of their vote.
