Government Polytechnic Jammu organized Handicrafts Demonstration Workshop

Government Polytechnic Jammu organized a Two-Days Handicrafts Demonstration Workshop in collaboration with Handicrafts Service Centre Jammu, for the students of the institution. The main objective of the Workshop was to aware the students about the various local handicrafts like miniature Basholi Painting, Bamboo craft, crochet designing, Embroidery, Phulkari art. Ms. Ambika Sambyal, Assistant Director Handicrafts introduced the various local artisans who then briefed the students about their journey and also demonstrated their skills.

Er. Arun Bangotra Prinicpal Government Polytechnic Jammu also welcomed the artisans and emphasized upon conducting such hands on training cum awareness programmes in the institute so as to promote the local emerging talents. Various artisans present were Sanchaita Pradhan- Shilpkari Bazaar, Khushi- Happy hearts by khushi, Suresh- Bamboo artisan, Renu Billowria- Embroidery, Antima Manhas- Basholi Painting. The workshop was coordinated by Er. Sakshi Kapahi Incharge Basholi Painting, Ar. Manu Rajput demonstrator Architecture Assistantship.
