Government Polytechnic Bikram Chowk Jammu today organised a trekking in collaboration with J&K Tourism department as a part of celebration of UT foundation Day in which 60 students and faculty and staff of 10 engineering branches of Government Polytechnic took part. Principal Er. Arun Bangotra along with Joint Director J&K Tourism Ms Sunaina Sharma flagged off the one day trekking from the campus of Government Polytechnic Jammu. The trek route was from Mahoregarh to Mansar. Principal Er Arun Bangotra briefed the students about the discipline to follow while trekking .The students were given task to collect the leaves of local plants and trees and also click the photographs of birds of the locality.The sports Secretary, Sh Amit Sharma apprised the trekkers about the route, altitude and climate of the area Mahorgarh which is the Medieval time site of a Fort. Those who were part of trekking include faculty members Sh. Amit Sharma HOD Travel and Tourism, Sh Dheeraj Kumar, Lecturer, Sh Ajay Thapa, Lecturer, Sh Aakash Dasgotra, Smt Mannu Rajput, Sh Himanshu Bakshi, Sh Chamel Singh, Smt Toshi Devi.
