With an objective to aware the final year students of the changing technologies and the need for skilling and reskilling in the new environments, Government Polytechnic Jammu organized today a seminar on the topic “Job Opportunities for Diploma Engineers”. Cmde Naresh Kumar IN (Rtd) VSM was the resource person for the said event. Er. Arun Bangotra, Principal Government Polytechnic Jammu welcomed the speaker and emphasized upon acquiring the industry skills in order to meet up the changing scenario in the field of engineering with respect to Industry 4.0 for employement.
Cmde Naresh Kumar in his address to students accentuated the growth of engineering education. He further informed that he has served Indian Navy for 33 years. He was a team member of indigenous Sonar Development at DRDO and Command and Control System Development for naval ships. He is also associated with “Youth for Nation” with an objective of mentoring the youth in schools and universities to prepare for AatmaNirbhar Bharat. He addressed the engineers as the key role players in the nation building and also the biggest asset for national progress. He briefed the students about the opportunities in defense and aerospace along with the new trends in AI, Data science, Robotics, Green Energy. The event concluded on a note that the youth must participate in nation building and national missions with their acquired skills. The event was coordinated by Er. Sukhdeep Singh HOD Civil Engg, Er.
