Government Polytechnic Jammu organised the Rolling trophy inter-department volley ball tournament in the college in which eight teams of different department participated. Today the final was played between Electrical Engineering department and Mechanical Engineering department and Mechanical engineering department defeated the Electrical Engineering Department and lifted the rolling trophy by 21-24, 24-20, 24-19 and 24-22. The trophy to the winning team and runner up team was presented by the Principal of the college Sh. Arun Bangotra. While speaking on the occasion Principal of the college laid stress on the importance of sports activities and encouraged the students to participate in sports activities which develops the quality of leadership, sense of responsibility and create the feeling of oneness by working together to become the good citizen of India. He also appreciated the effort’s of all the HOD’s in making the tournament successful. The Tournament was organised under the overall supervision of Mr. Rakesh Kakkar, Physical Education Master of Sports Department who presented the vote of thanks. Others who were present on the occasion were Sh. Inderjeet Singh, Workshop Supdt, Sh. K.S Bhatia HOD (Mechanical), staff and students of the college.
